    Founded in 1956, Zhuhai No. 1 Governmental Institution Kindergarten is the only kindergarten directly affiliated to Zhuhai Education Bureau. With 10 classes, a faculty of 60 and occupying an area of 3,080 square meters, it has 350 young children aged between 2 and 6. Endowed with orderly and elegant environment, the kindergarten has such facilities as multifunctional hall, science room, cooking room, carpentry room, earthenware handicraft room, reading room and fine arts room, which are all equipped with advanced facilities. Providing each class and function room with PCs and TV sets, it has constructed and upgraded its school LAN network, optimized means of teaching and created an information education environment. In 1996, it was appraised as one of the first Guangdong Provincial First-class Kindergartens. 

    The kindergarten is staffed by highly qualified and high educational background teachers who are enterprising and devoted. For years, guided by the principle of revitalizing education with scientific research, it has made efforts to improve teachers’ abilities of scientific studies. It always aims at enhancing physical and psychological development in a harmonized way for young children amid relaxing and pleasing game activities. The kindergarten has embarked on quite a number of experimental researches of State “10th five-year plan projects”, and the research of Montessori has formed the outstanding educational features of the kindergarten. Currently, it is “Montessori Education Center” and Sino-American “Demonstrative Montessori Education Base” for the project research of “new century quality education in China”. 

    The kindergarten has attached great importance to cooperating with parents. Through such forms as parents’ meeting, seminars on parenting education knowledge, contests of nursing knowledge and wallpapers for family education, the kindergarten actively encourages parents to participate in the various activities of the kindergarten, making them the partners for education, maximizing the integrated effects of education and promoting the healthy growth of each young child.
